Computers, are they dangerous or useful for us?

Nowadays, the computers are necessary and useful in all the field of life. It's considerate the third big discovering and revolution just after the industrial revolution.

In the moderns societies, it's just impossible to live without this kind of technology like computers, mobiles, cameras... Because it made our life easier. On one hand, we can find in a few seconds all the kind of informations that we want, we can talk with people and see them at the same time and cheaper, because the distance doesn't matter.
Some others can work at home without move and stay closer to their family or children. And then we can also find love virtually or new people all around the world thanks to msn, tchats and forums. Well to sum up, with the computers and Internet we can win time.

But on another hand, this kind of technology can be dangerous for human also if they are addicted to it, the problems that it makes are that we lose the feelings when we used to talk so much by the screen, children spend more time in the video games, locked in virtual world in state to go play out and discover the real world. As we could see in some news, criminal can reach children by tchat and make them believe that they are their friends, ending with kidnappings and paedophilia.
An other negative point that we can added to this list is that the Internet is destroying and ruining the music and cinema industry because we have more facility to obtain them free.

In conclusion, I would say that the computers are indispensable for us nowadays. We can't forget that the Informatica has created a lot of jobs and made our life easier. But if we don't know how to control it we can easily fall in addiction and made us live in a virtual world forgetting the essential of the real life.

Humour it is necessary to survive?

Nietzsche said '' men suffer so profoundly that they needed to invent laughter''. When you read this sentence you trend to agree with it. We have to admit that the humanity suffers sometimes we have our bad moments and one way to return the happiness in our minds is to laugh about whatever, just smile and forget our pain.

It's true that, saying that laugh is necessary to survive seems to be absurd, but not at all, because if somebody doesn't laugh at all he'll probably die earlier than another one who lives his life with a bit of positivism.
Humour is for a lot of people a job, so many comedians works hard to make us laugh. I admire these people, because in their shows they just need to inspire them in the way that people are to make us laugh. So humour it's a critic towards humanity and it foolishness.

Like I've said before humour is a self-criticism that humans invent to try to forget what miserable life they have or how they are. Because some prefer laughing then crying themselves. So it's true that people need humour to survive. because if it didn't exist, life will be boring, then it helps us to make life easier.

Learning that the royal coat frees itself, the Duke de Norfolk and his parent Mr Thomas Boleyn decide to introduce the girl of this last, Ann Boleyn, to the king with the recommendation to entice the sovereign to bring him to her.

During a party of hunt organized in the residence of Boleyn, Ann makes a serious error. Henry VII turns away from her and meets Mary Boleyn, her sister. Although married, the king calls her to the courtyard to entice her. Ann and Mary, become rivals ready for everything to earn favours of the king. History is spelled little by little in the dark halls of the royal residence.
Anne de Boleyn, full of hate and jealousy decide to charm the king while her sister was pregnant, then she convince the king to make her as the Queen of England, thing that will provoc a lot of problems with the Pope, Anne is called witch because she put discord between all her family and into the corts. (Iwon't tell you the end, just discovered it for your own !)

This film is adapted from the eponymous novel (The other Boleyn girl) of Philippa Gregory, history takes root in the meanders of the intrigues of palace to stage the female rivality of both sisters Boleyn. While the figure of Ann is much more obscure than her sister.
This béance of historical reality allows invention to exacerbate the confrontation of true love, like Mary with the king, the love of interest, personified by Ann, manipulative.
To represent these two facets, Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman confront one another in actors bright play.

Final evaluation of 1st Batxillerat

When I observe my portfolio I don't see a lot of changes, I mean that maybe I've learnt some things but I still need to learn more to approve my English. Maybe in the summaries of films I have approve, I think that it's a good way to control our vocabulary and how to use it.

Between all the activities we've done this year in English I think that the oral presentation and the speaking show my level of English because for me the writing just show who much mistakes I make. To resolve that problems I think that all the redaction we've done helped me to do less mistakes than before and also when I write in my blog I always learn more vocabulary when I search in the dictionary some words.

I think that all the activities we've done this year were useful, even if sometimes we have a lot of works and we don't have time for example to do an entry in our blog but I have to admit that all the activities we've done including the blogs and the portfolio were necessary.

The activities that I've enjoyed doing were watching movies, speaking with Anika, the oral presentation, even it's makes me nervous and sick. For the next year it will be good if there will be not so many activities to do in a short time, because I think that in each term we have so many things to do that a reorganization of the activities is necessary for us to approve the English activities.

The balance of my three oral presentation

If I have to compare between all my oral presentation I've done this year I would said that my first one was the best because It was to talk about our self and I was quite easy because I didn't have to memorize important information and I was comfortable I was not stressed

In the second one I was talking about a country which talk English and I've chosen to talk about Australia, This time I've done it with Ariadna, so we helped each other. But for me it was not so good because I think that we didn't have so much time to prepare it well. But It's true that I've learnt a lot of new vocabulary and this is a positive thing to approve my English.

My third and last one was for me the worst because firstly I was in a bad day and I also didn't prepare it well, the topic that I've chosen interested me a lot but I think that I didn't explain and present what I imagined. I was I was very stressed and I was unable to do it well, I forget some paragraphs, I made some mistakes in my speaking and I was only watching my power point.

Well this is the impression I have about all three presentation and I hope that next year I will get out my stress and maybe present more presentation well done.

Final destination

Final Destination it is about a group of teenagers who 'cheat death' by avoiding a plane crash when one them, Alex, has a premonition of their deaths. Soon after their escape, they begin dying one-by-one in mysterious freak accidents.

Alex Browning and his French class are about to depart for Paris. Just before the plane takes off, he experiences a disturbing vision in which his plane explodes in midair, killing him and everyone on board. As Alex attempts to get a grip on himself, events from his vision begin to occur in reality, confirming that his premonition is indeed a prediction of the future and that the airliner is on its way to ill-fated disaster. He and several friends are removed from the plane. Shortly after takeoff, the plane explodes into flames, confirming the validity of his premonition.

Afterwards, the survivors of the crash begin to die mysteriously. Alex soon realizes that the survivors have cheated death, and that death, as if a character itself, has come back to kill them. Alex's only choice is to team up with the other survivors as they try to figure out a way to cheat death a second time.

In the path that leads to a walled castle

To help a desperate king whose daughter has been captivate

Ensue that St. George head towards the place where the dragon

Kismet to kill the princess. When he arrived, a big figure was standing

Next to him, it was the red dragon ready to fight

In the end the brave horseman killed the dragon and

Get the wonderful princess free, and on the spot where

Had the dragon been spilled, blood grew

Are the exams important at school?

I agree with the idea that the exams are important at school, because it's the only way to point the capacity of the student.

It's true that the exams can make some students nervous and because of this they can repeat the school year, but the exams are necessary, firstly to make the students learn and make grow up their level ok knowledge. The exams also help to know if they are able to pass to a next hard year.

To sum up, I would said that the exams has to be done at school. I don't think that school without exams is good for the students because the exams are the keys of the knowledge and make us go on.

The situation of our planet

I don't agree with the idea that we have learnt to respect our world. in my opinion we mostly have learnt to used from it resources as much as we want.

In the XXI century, the worst century that our planet has ever known, plenty of population, industries, factories and countries are contributing to the contaminate our air, the global warming increase every time more and made the planet out of breath.

I don't think that we have learnt enough to respect our planet just because if it was the case I'm absolutely sure that the situation couldn't look like it is nowadays. And unfortunately in state of preserving the last resources of the planet, the population and the industries are wasting them. Next to the danger that our home, the planet, it's put on, some persons start to keep good resolution, and try to consume less and don't waste so much. The people are aware of the world disease and some of them are trying to change there ways to treat the world.

In conclusion, I will say that I think that it's to late to save the world, the resources of the planet are running over, the drought, the pollution, the extinction of some species of animals and much more facts include the human are killing the world step by step. And next to this general pessimism nothing in my opinion can save the planet, there is a beginning and an end for every thing.

The win was a unanimous decision among the nine-member Cannes jury, said Sean Penn, who headed the panel.

The young policeman Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of ghoulish murders. On his arrival, the town council informs him that the three victims were killed in open ground, and the heads had disappeared taken by a headless ghost that is supposedly responsible.

Helped by the orphaned Young Masbeth, whose father was a victim of the Horseman, Crane discovers within the Western Woods both the Horseman's entry point between this world and the beyond, the gnarled Tree of the Dead, and his grave.

He finds the Horseman's skull is missing though the murders continue until Crane uncovers a murky plot revolving around revenge and land rights with the Horseman controlled by Katrina's stepmother, Lady Van Tassel, who sends the killer after her. Following a fight in the local windmill and a stagecoach chase through the woods, Crane eventually frustrate Lady Van Tassel by returning the skull to the Horseman, who regains his head and heads back to hell along with her.

Finally Crane, Katrina and the young Masbeth return to New York to start a new beginning.

Frankenstein

Differences between the film and the book:

The Frankenstein movie of Graham didn't respect all the real story book of Marry Shelley, he had put some details and some scenes and facts that don't exist in the real story but I think that he made it to give some intensity and action to the movie. When we compare the tow works we can see along that some scenes had been added to the film for example, in the movie, his friend Henry and Victor met together when they arrived to the university, but in the real story the tow men were friends since their were children.

And other fact that we can expect in the film it's when the cholera appear in the university city
were Victor went to study and it was the cause that conduce the escaping of Henry but Victor didn't mind that and he continued his experiment, after that her love Elisabeth come to see him and to try to make him reasonable, this scenes doesn't appear in the book.

But more than this, the film maker put some others facts which are unreal in the Mary Shelley's book, and it's about a Scenes when after that the monster kill Elisabeth, Victor took her to resurrect her, and it also appear a fight between Victor and The monster to own Elisabeth who find her self ugly and finally she suicide because of not could stand his new form as a monster.

That were the most important differences that we can find between the movie made by Graham and the real story of Frankenstein. Well in my opinion I've prefer the book than the movie because the director put some fact to make the film more interesting maybe but he just arrived to make it unreal and a bit ridiculous with scenes which make more laugh in state of make you blue.

Description of my sister

If I have to describe someone I admire I will choose my sister of 22 years, because she one the persons I share my life with. I know everything about her personality it's like I can read into her mind.

Nina is my grand sister, she's not so tall but she's got beautiful blue eyes and short blonde hair. She's quite attractive and extroverted and she's got a good heart.

Nina seems to be an independent person and self-confident but on the inside she's quite insecure. She is very impulsive ad talkative.Something that I`m not, I'm rather rational and shy. But she's too thoughtful. She always ready to give you a help. and I'm feel comfortable with her.

One of the things that I really like about Nina is that she's never two faced, and she's narrow-minded and those qualities are the most important for me. But sometimes it can be easily influenced by her friends and this can get worse if she gives them importance.

On Feb. 2, 2007, the United Nations scientific panel studying climate change declared that the evidence of a warming trend is "unequivocal," and that human activity has "very likely" been the driving force in that change over the last 50 years. The last report by the group, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, in 2001, had found that humanity had played a role.

In recent months, business groups have banded together to make unprecedented calls for federal regulation of greenhouse gases. The subject had a red-carpet moment when former Vice President Al Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," was awarded an Oscar; and the Supreme Court made its first global warming-related decision, ruling 5 to 4 that the Environmental Protection Agency had not justified its position that it was not authorized to regulate carbon dioxide.

Hollywood is ready for 80th Oscar Ceremony

Hollywood stars will parade across the red carpet for Sunday's Academy Awards after weeks of uncertainty over whether a writers' strike that had derailed other award shows would be settled in time for the Oscars.

However, the Oscars competition itself appears to hold little suspense, with clear favorites generally expected to win. Joel and Ethan Coen, screenwriting winners for 1996's "Fargo", look to come away as the night's big winners for their crime story "No Country for Old Men", which has dominated at earlier film honors.

Fresh names also dominate the directing category, where only Joel Coen has been nominated before, with "Fargo" (he and his brother only recently started sharing directing credits, so this is Ethan Coen's first nomination in the category). Also in the running are Paul Thomas Anderson for "There Will Be Blood", Tony Gilroy for "Michael Clayton", Jason Reitman for "Juno" and Julian Schnabel for the stroke drama "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

Fashion review

The Chanel carousel erected in the middle of the Grand Palais, with a zoo of quilted icons bobbing up and down and great clothes, is a reminder of how big Karl Lagerfeld thinks. This is where so many of the brand revivals fall down; their designers can’t project a big picture. They are small-frame thinkers, tweaking at seams and having absolutely no impact.

Mr. Lagerfeld has been the puzzling and dazzling exception in Paris for close to two decades. For a while, Tom Ford occupied a similar position in Milan, when he blew up Gucci. John Galliano’s success at Dior has been mixed, while Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga has made a sharp instrument out of a beautiful but small gem.

Finally, on Thursday night, four years after he was appointed creative director of YSL, Mr. Pilati crossed that mysterious bridge to the big stage. In their movement, shape and attitude, the clothes evoked the swagger and spirit of the Rive Gauche era, when Saint Laurent ruled, just as surely as Mr. Lagerfeld’s capture some undefined essence of Coco Chanel.

Dear Mrs Pintó

I am a student of secondary school in Ies CAstelló d'Emprúries and I am writing to comment on different matters.

On one hand, I want to point that the level of studies in this high school is quite good, the teaching staff is professional and the lessons atmosphere is pleasant.

But on the other hand the building is dull, both the inside and outside walls. It need to be more colourful and maybe some window fences are unnecessary.

In my pinion, this little detail is important to give liveliness to the building. Because as it is now, it's look more a prison than a school.

I am looking forward to get a response.
